Authors should ensure that their manuscript meets the following requirements before submission.
Relevant details of the authors should be on the first page in the order: first name, middle name(s), last name. Only contributors should be listed, with roles stated under “Authors’ Roles” using abbreviations. Example: “EEB conceptualized the study; RIO and DOU carried out the experiments. The entire study was supervised by EEB and EKIO. All authors read the manuscript and approved its submission.” Authors must meet the ICMJE authorship criteria. Include email and telephone number of the corresponding author(s).
Not more than 25 words.
Maximum 300 words. Structure for original research: Background and purpose; Methods; Results; Conclusion.
Between 3 and 5 keywords.
Introduction; Materials and Methods; Results; Discussion; Conclusion; Acknowledgements; References.
Include as part of Acknowledgements.
High quality: 1200 dpi (line art), 600 dpi (grayscale), 300 dpi (colour), at correct size. Acceptable formats: EPS, PS, JPEG, GIF, DOC, DOCX.
Prepare with headings and footnotes so they are understandable without referring to the text.
Use appropriate software for writing equations.
The APC is $80 for authors outside Nigeria and N80,000 for authors within Nigeria. Short communications and letters to the editor of less than four pages cost $50 or N50,000.
